Call of Duty keeps getting bigger, bigger, and bigger. In 2009, Modern Warfare 2 garnered 550 million dollars in sales – taking the throne for the best selling video game of all time from Gran Theft Auto IV. This is merely just in one week. Well, in 2010, Activision outdone themselves by racking up 650 million dollars in just a week, barely even a week.
Activision and Microsoft made a deal in June. This contract between the two parties means that from Modern Warfare 2′s Map Packs on, the DLC’s that Activision develops are entirely time-exclusive to Microsoft’s Xbox Live platform. This means that for exactly one month, any DLC that Activision releases is exclusive to Microsoft’s green console.
Black Ops’ first Map Pack dubbed “First Strike” actually the third Map Pack to release under the agreement between Microsoft and Activision. Treyarch, the subsidiary of Acivision released a trailer talking about the Map Pack:

Call of Duty: Black Ops has been building up more, and more hype, which in turn creating more talk, more speculation. Recently, Treyarch teased about a huge multiplayer reveal. Yesterday, Sept 1st came and gone. What we DIDN’T know, was that the reveal was going to be from a press-only premiere event. Activision has been tight-lipped about the multiplayer aspects of Call of Duty: Black Ops. They’ve been hyping more about the single player aspects of the game recently. Being able to fly a hovering helicopter and throwing missiles and causing chaos on lush environments? SIGN ME UP! Black Ops is everywhere – basketball game, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and all over the internet. So, Josh Olin (@JD_2020) released a teaser trailer for COD: Black Ops’ Multiplayer.
Recently, we’ve gotten a teaser trailer, and premiere trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops. Last night, the publisher of Call of Duty 7 held a conference of their own and gaming sites have gotten ahold of first gameplay footage of Black Ops. I know its not much, but its somethin’ somethin’! And I tell ya, it looks AWESOME!

Activision and Treyarch has been on a hype-train since they revealed COD7 to be Call of Duty: Black Ops. They released a tease trailer on May 1st, on Spike TV’s GameTrailers show. Since then, a lot of information has surfaced. A lot of speculation about COD: Black Ops has been giving Black Ops a lot of attention. The game looks to take place in the Cold War era. Ya know, where secrets and lies are the norm?
