As I reported before, Double XP weekend begins on Friday, July 1st, but Josh Olin, the Treyarch Community Manager posted a tweet detailing this coming friday’s Double XP weekend.
He said that the event runs from this friday morning July 1st, to the coming monday July 5th. Although, usually they celebrate Double XP weekend on the wake of a new Map Pack, such as the recently released Annihilation, this particular Double XP is special because it’s Fourth of July on Sunday. So, to celebrate freedom of America all over United States, go rank up!
You can start racking up your XP with this particular Double XP weekend at 10am PST/1pm EST this friday, and it ends at the same exact time on monday morning. On top of that, the Double XP weekend is also open across all three game consoles; Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. Have fun!

Remember, the map pack is available on Xbox Live only for now. The PS3 and PC versions will arrive at least a month from now. Late July the latest.
What started as a leak turned rather official. Map Pack 3 is on it’s way, and Activision today released the official debut trailer for Annihilation that’s slated to release on June 28th:

As leaked before, Black Ops’ third Map Pack has been officially revealed. Check out the trailer below:
The map pack releases first on Xbox Live on June 28th, 2011. The map will include 5 multiplayer maps: Hangar 18, Drive-In, Silo, Hazard, and an extra map for Zombie fans.
Well, after the release of First Strike, and Escalation. Call of Duty fans were expecting it, and they’re getting it. It started out as a leak through youtube, which you will soon learn. The Map Pack was originally thought to be “Retaliation.” As you can see, it is shown via an Xbox Live user who found it as a glitch.
A very popular Call of Duty: Black Ops site called Digital Warfare 24/7 broke the story to the world when they stumbled across a GameStop promotional poster, but another website got a-hold of a better picture:

Call of Duty: Black Ops Map Pack 3
Notice that the poster shows the exact date for the launch of Black Ops’ new Map Pack: June 28th, 2011. That’s roughly a week from now. This means an announcement is just around the corner.
There seems to be 5 maps included in this map pack: Hangar 18, Drive-In, Silo, Hazard, and an extra map for Zombie fans. Are you ready to back into Black Ops again?
Another thing to consider is that this Map Pack seems to coincide with upcoming Call of Duty Elite beta coming in July. [MW3Blog article] CODElite applies to Black Ops, in fact, the beta will work with Black Ops, and the full launch of the service will go live alongside MW3 release.
Just remember, the Map Pack will release on Xbox Live first. Microsoft and Activision signed a multi-year contract. [article]
Limited Edition PS3 Call of Duty: Black Ops Bundle Coming Soon

Regardless of the fact that Activision signed a multi-year, multi-title contract with Microsoft. Sony decides to make nice-y nice with Activision by bringing a Limited Edition bundle to PS3. The bundle comes with a 160GB PS3 hardware, one PS3 controller, one Black Ops video game, and a redeemable coupon code for Black Ops’ first map pack called “First Strike.” To see the gameplay trailer of First Strike, here it is. The bundle arrives May 31st at retailers nationwide with a suggested retail price of $299.
