This month’s issue of Official PlayStation Magazine asked Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia if we’d be seeing Zombie Mode returning Black Ops, he responded:
“We really like the Zombie Mode, and as I mentioned I can’t talk about the co-op mode other than to say one of the reasons we love it so much is that it feels like it was a fan adopted mode, made out of passion of a lot of the team members here.”
OPM then mentioned that they wanted to see the Zombie Mode in the final game and he replied:
“Well all I can tell you is we listen to the fanbase. Those are our consumers, so…”
Activision is yet to confirm a concrete release date for the game, but looking at the history of the Call of Duty series and their past release dates over the last 5 years, we estimate the game will hit shelves sometime during the week starting November 8th, 2010.
I was just browsing around treyarch.com when i noticed their jobs section, one post in the section - Treyarch > Jobs – is for a Level Builder for Call of Duty.
Out of 5 key responsibilities, the one that stuck out to me is ‘Research subject matter for history and look of the level‘ which i guess definitely sets the next Call of Duty title somewhere in the past, as was expected.
I’ll be keeping my eyes on the job board, to see if there are any more clues.
Generally pretty reliable news source CVG are today reporting that Call of Duty 7: Vietnam (Although probably with a far nicer name) is set to hit stores this November.
I’m not convinced how reliable their source is, there have been plenty of rumours floating around this week mentioning Vietnam, and ties to films like Platoon and Apocalypse Now and at first glance this appears to simply be another one of those. Like i said though, CVG do tend to be pretty reliable in my experience… and they’re certainly well established.
